Instituton of Electrical Engineers, Savoy Place, London

The Institution of Electrical Engineers is the largest professional engineering society in Europe with a worldwide membership of just under 130,000. It is dedicated to promoting the advancement of electrical, electronic and manufacturing science and engineering.

Working under CDM regulations, Caswell Environmental Services undertook an extensive asbestos removal and reinsulation programme at the IEE's headquarters in Savoy Place, London WC2. This involved the painstaking clearance of all library and archive documents dating back to the 19th century. The contract, which covered a 6 week period and involved bringing materials on site and working within the entire basement service area, was completed on time and on budget to the complete satisfaction of the client.
