Caswell wins Crown Prosecution Service contract
21.11.05
Caswell Environmental Services Ltd has won a three year term contract from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) - the government department responsible for prosecuting criminal cases investigated by the police in England and Wales - to provide specialist asbestos management services at its premises throughout the UK. The CPS has headquarters in London and York and operates under a structure of 42 areas in England and Wales, which correspond to the 43 police forces in England and Wales plus the London area.
The contract with the CPS follows the introduction of the Control of Asbestos at Work regulations 2002, under which all employers and freeholders of commercial property have a duty to keep their personnel safe from the dangers represented by asbestos. Caswell has been contracted on an open-book basis, for any removal and disposal of asbestos deemed necessary following the initial survey to determine the presence of asbestos.
RBS banks on Caswell
Following a strong recommendation by a leading construction, maintenance and property company working in the administration, building repair and loss adjusting field, Caswell Environmental Services has been contracted by the home insurance division of the Royal Bank of Scotland plc (RBS) to provide specialist asbestos management services. RBS Insurance is the second largest general insurance provider in the UK and underwrites retail, wholesale and commercial insurance products.
The services will include call-outs to premises in the Midlands in which RBS has an interest. For example, if the bank’s insurance division receives a claim from a tenant, Caswell team will be called in to test for asbestos, take whatever remedial action is required and subsequently remove and dispose of the affected material from the area concerned. |
