The unexpected discovery of asbestos during demolition or refurbishment
can have huge ramifications. It will almost certainly lead to delay,
disruption, additional costs and the possibility of litigation.
Taking precautionary measures has always made sound economic sense
- but now, under the Control of Asbestos at Work regulations of
2002, there is a legal obligation on landlords or occupiers to manage
their asbestos risk by undertaking an asbestos survey of their premises.
The organisation concerned must then act on the survey's recommendations
- which could well mean asbestos removal or encapsulation.
A survey by Caswell Environmental Services - supported by a comprehensive
report - will help you establish, plan and undertake future work
programmes with confidence. As part of the survey process, we will:
- advise on how to establish an effective removal programme
- carry out a full survey on your property stock
- offer advice on managing the asbestos bearing materials in your
property portfolio
- remove items discovered during the survey which are adjudged
to be an immediate Health & Safety risk
- work with you to plan a full asbestos removal programme.

We offer three types of Asbestos Survey:
Type 1: Location and assessment survey. (Presumptive survey)
Type 2: Standard sampling, identification and assessment
survey.
(Sampling survey)
Type 3: Full access sampling and identification survey.
(Pre-demolition/major refurbishment survey)
We will produce a comprehensive register by accessing all areas
of a property, including rood spaces, vertical ducts, under floor
areas and lift shafts, as well as occupied areas. Any hazardous
areas identified will be brought immediately to the client's notice
together with a recommended course of action.
